Board Chairman’s Letter

Thank you for taking time to learn about the work being done by the L'AINE Foundation. "L’AINE Foundation" is a non-governmental organization, set up with the main objective of spear heading the changing of the mindset of students in the tertiary institutions and other young men and women that there is an alternative to formal employment, which is entrepreneurship.

L’AINE Foundation is an overshoot of L’AINE Services Limited, a company involved in the provision of human resource services, such as job placement (including outsourcing of staff to companies), training, organizational development, career counselling and the production of management training videos. They also carry out grooming/interview preparation and rapporteuring. L’AINE Services has assisted thousands of professionals and school leavers to find jobs over the past 15 years.

Having seen the yawning gap between the number of qualified applicants and the few jobs available, the management of L’AINE Services mooted an alternative. The sustainable alternative to meeting the jobs challenge head-on is assisting people with viable business ideas to launch successful entrepreneurial ventures, so as to generate employment faster. L’AINE Foundation believes in entrepreneurship as a powerful force for change in the developing world. This change will help create jobs, reduce poverty and foster sustainable development in our local communities.

Our vision is to help entrepreneurs’ start-up and existing businesses by assisting with funding and business education, so as to expand and sustain their businesses thereby generating jobs for others in the economy. We continually achieve this by:

  • Enhancing the image of entrepreneurship as a desirable career option.
  • Identifying and nurturing individuals with high potential.
  • Educating potential entrepreneurs in a way that is practical, relevant and holistic.
  • Providing all aspiring with real-world business skills that will be useful, whether individuals ultimately choose to be employees or self-employed.
  • Encouraging the dissemination of basic entrepreneurial skills amongst rural and urban communities throughout the country.
  • Supporting start-ups and micro-enterprises with respect to: skills, mentors, services, networks and financing arrangements.
  • Being one of the leading functional NGO microfinance providers in the lower end of the MSMEs target market.
  • Providing flexible and swift financial solutions tailored to our customer’s needs in the locality we operate. Thinking communally, act locally and seek for the overall welfare of the poorest of the poor.

At the end of the day, L’AINE FOUNDATION’s activities will be a living proof that the downward spiral of poverty is reversible through entrepreneurial education from innovative and funded activities.

We hope that our website will serve as an informative insight into our projects and the work of the
L’AINE Foundation.
