Internship With Us

L'AINE Foundation partners with select universities in the world to support long-term relationships, as well as to engage graduate students in meaningful internships. This program fosters a deeper understanding of the work of L'AINE Foundation.

We are currently considering partnering for the Internship Program with Boston College, Fordham University, Santa Clara University, Seattle University, Kroc Institute for Economic Development. Locally, we will also work with most of the tertiary institutions in Ghana. Interns will support L'AINE Foundation’s work in the following program sectors:

            Training
            Mentoring
            Consulting
            Funding
            The ENTREPAD
            Business Outreach and
            Administration and Management of the L'AINE Foundation

If you are not a student at one of these universities, your engagement with L'AINE Foundation would still be encouraged.

 Types of Assignments

Short-term assignments (Generally from 10 weeks up to 3 months) might include:

  • Conducting research with staff or partner of L'AINE Foundation.
  • Undertaking monitoring and evaluation for a specific partner or project.
  • Building capacity for L'AINE Foundation staff and partners in an intern's area of expertise
  •  Documenting programs, projects, and best practices for the foundation

Long-term assignments (Generally from 3 months to 6 months) might include:

  • Working directly with a partner and L'AINE Foundation staff to design and develop project proposals.
  •  Developing specific training programs for L'AINE Foundation staff and its partners.
  • Assisting the foundations a program with in-depth analysis on a specific issue.
  • Designing  L'AINE Foundation presentations.

Where do Interns serve?
Interns work in any of the communities where the foundation works.

Qualifications
Placements in the L'AINE Foundation Intern Program are open to all current, qualifying graduate students. Each university is responsible for screening the intern candidates.

Financial Arrangements
In most instances, the sponsoring university or the intern will provide:

  • Housing
  • Food
  • Transportation to and from the country of placement
  • Transportation to and from work
  • Medical expenses and insurance

L'AINE Foundation  will provide:

  • A meaningful intern opportunity
  • Assistance in finding a host family or accommodation in-country
  • In-country work related transport
  • Supervision of the intern
